To work with a product key, it must be on someone’s sticker on (usually a laptop). If they are unreadable, contact the manufacturer for assistance. As already mentioned, the product key is definitely not the CD on the installation.
Replacing faulty laptop optical drives is not that difficult, you can consider this as another option.
